byebye duke we loved you.ok when we went to cali my dad got home at tuesday and clinton and erin were watching the dogs and all three dogs escaped duke{our dog} and riley and chester{clintons dogs}then this man in our neighborhood found duke and chester but not riley.so that guy called my dad and my dad said to put the two dogs at our house before my dad got home.my dad was coming home and he didnt see duke or chester outside so my dad that day looked for them until 130

Last weekend he shot and killed a bobcat.
He skinned it and then put the skin on wood forms to dry.
It stares at me when I walk out to the garage.

Last week it fell and broke...I was sad. I liked my K.
The next day someone fixed my K with scotch tape

Having 5 kids and a newborn
Trying to get all of them to their STUFF
Kids home from school sick
Having a newborn that doesn't like to nurse

Dealing with the possibility of not nursing

I went to my Doctors appointment on Monday the 3rd. He scheduled an inducement for the next day but told me he didn't think I would make it through the night. And he was right. Around 9pm I started having painful contractions. So I laid down hoping that they would stop. I wanted to wait till tomorrow. But they were getting more painful and closer together. So around 11pm we went to the hospital. Thank goodness it was slow and they gave me an epidural soon after. Then the nausea set in and I was sick all night. Around 6am I felt like I needed to push. They checked me and I was at a 9. They called Dr. Lepetich from home and told him to hurry.
7:47 he was born
8 pounds 8 ounces
20 inches long

He is so perfect.
Round face, dark hair, dark eyebrows.
He held his head up right when they laid him on me.
He can't wait to see Jaycee and all his cousins!
Thank you family and friends for all your help!

How can you not smile when you think of growing up with Syd.
She was the youngest of us four sisters. Boy did she get the most PERSONALITY!
She was so fun!
She would POUND on the piano when playing her songs.
She loved to think she was as old as us older sisters.
She is very athletic.
She was always up for doing anything(rollerblading from Newport to Balboa and back...tennis at MHS...pics for Courts photography class...whatever!)

October 22 is a special day in our family. It is my Grandpa Johnsons, Syd's and Paige's birthday.

I remember watching Syd get all dressed up on her birthday. My Grandpa would come pick her up in his Mercedes, to take her on a date. I don't remember being jealous but so excited for her. It was really special to see them together on their birthday. And then just so perfect that Paige was born on that day to carry on a birthday tradition!

I feel so lucky to be close in age with her and to have done so many things together.

Now she has grown up to be a generous, thoughful, and just a fun mom, aunt, and wife!

Ward Campout 2008

We rolled into our Ward campsite around 11:30 PM and basically woke up the whole camp. Thank goodness Brother Kendall and Brad helped us put up our tent. We didn't have a pump for the air matress the first night, so we slept on rocks. It was kinda rough! The next night we borrow an air pump and it was soooo much better!
The kids had so much fun!
We really need to go camping more...
just not when I'm pregnant!

We celebrated Alice's birthday by going to our favorite birthday lunch spot....Joe's Farm Grill. Does it get better then Alice getting $10 off her lunch and her kids meal was $4.99? Seriously...I love that place! I just wish I could try something else besides the Buffalo Chicken Sandwitch.

Wicked Awesome Weekend

Went to LA to go see Wicked with some friends. It was one of the funnest Girls Trips I've been on. We went to this Cuban resturant Portos for almost every meal. SO GOOD! I miss it! Checked out the Fashion District, the Groves, H&M, In & Out, and Bubba Gump's. I LOVED WICKED! Thought it was so clever and the singing talent was amazing!

First Day of School

Kohl and Emma were not that excited to get back to school, but Clay was. When I picked them up after school, Clay said "That was so fun, Mom!" And he has loved everyday since. Kohl started band after school and Em goes to orchestra in the morning. They both love playing instruments. They all like their teachers. This is the first time Kohl has had a Mr. for a teacher and he loves it.

G-Love started Mrs. Sheri's today too! She insisted on wearing a band aid by her eye (I didn't see anything there). Alice wasn't sure what to think when we got home and it was just me and her. Thank goodness it was naptime and I had the whole house to myself.

Arizona Science Muesuem

Before school started the kids and I wanted to go to the Arizona Science Muesuem in Phoenix. It was really fun especially for the older kids. Kohl loved to see everything and figure it out. He was off doing his own thing and was missed in alot of the pictures. We went to the Planetarium while we were there and saw a movie about Black Holes in space. We had alot of fun together.

Newport Beach 2008

It's our annual Newport Worthen Trip!
As long as I can remember we have gone to Cali for a summer vacation!
How fun it is!
On Sunday we went to church and G fell asleep on Taylors lap!

Clay was so embarressed on stage during his graduation. They sang songs that they learned and got their diploma. Grandpa Kennedy came.

Emma and Grace had their dance recital this weekend. We were there all day. Em did 3 dances at the 1pm recital and then both her and Grace did 1 in the 6pm recital. Em did great as always. She really has worked hard and has improved so much this year. This was Grace's first time performing and did so good too. She smile the whole time and did every move. They were both so entertaining to watch. I loved it!

If Wende got all of the organization talent in our family then Courtney got all of the creative talent. Our little family was so excited when Clay was born. My mom was flying in to help that day. And while she was enroute I went to the hospital (unplanned) to have the baby! My friend, Ashley, picked up my Mom from the airport. We stayed in my favorite hospital room (so far!) in Greenbrae, California. It had a huge window in the room and it was just so green and beautiful outside! After they admitted me and given me my beloved epidural, they broke my water about an hour later. I was at a four. Within minutes I had really strong contractions and within 15 minutes I felt like I had to push. I told the nurse but since they had just checked me 15 minutes ago she kinda blew me off. I told her again a couple minutes later that I had the urge to push. She reluctantly checked me and looked suprised. The head was right there and I was at a 10. The Dr. came back in, I pushed 2 or 3 times and Clay Leon Kennedy was born. Oh man...love at first sight. He was so cute (they all are). Since my Mom was here for the week, Keith flew to Arizona two days after he was born to find a house for us, without me ever seeing it. Yes, it is the one we are living in now! We moved back to AZ a month after Clay was born. Clay was the best baby. He never cried. Kohl and Em were just so excited for him and are great examples to him. He was such a sweet toddler. Clay has now grown into a daredevil obsessed with sports!He is very thoughtful of his younger sisters. He has broken both of his arms. One was from falling off the trampoline and the other was from flying (yes he thought he might be able to fly) off the top bunk.
He has had the back of his head, glued together because of a gash he recieved by putting his bike on the trampoline that he had just learned how to ride.

Womens Conference was so inspiring. It was my first year going and I loved it. I loved going to classes during the day and hanging with the girls at night!

Power Ranch Kids Fun Run

Last Saturday we took the kids to a fun run in Power Ranch.
It was .41 miles. This was the first time the kids have done any kind of a running race before. At the last minute G wanted to do it. She had a size too big Vans on and still did it. She kept saying the whole time, "This is sooo long." or "Mom I am so hot, my head is hot." We would slow down, but then she would be mad if anyone passed her. So we started running again. And she ran the rest of the race. Clay did great too. And so did Em. Kohl was running in first most the race, till the very end when a girl caught him at the end! Keith said Kohl just didn't want her to feel bad! It was really fun with the kids. Keith and Alice cheered us on. The kids want to start running with me at nights now.

The week following Keiths wrist surgery, we already had plans to take Em to a dance performance at Disneyland. We really had alot of fun. Poor Keith couldn't do too many rides and was in pain. We went with Derek and Summer's family.

Poor Keith

Two weeks ago I got a call from a friend in the ward that Keith hurt his wrist at a Church basketball game. I met him at the emergency room, thinking maybe by chance he just thought it was broken but wasn't really. Oh boy, when I saw it, his right wrist was broken and bent up. And, he was in pain to say the least. They had to set the bones twice. Since he broke that wrist in high school and took the cast off early, himself, so he can shoot a gun with it and not miss his hunt, it didn't heal right. While we were at the hospital, sweet Em got out of bed and made him a get well note.
This is what I came home to.

He has had to get surgery to put a plate in and he is not able to work for probable 2-3 months. What a crazy twist in our life!

EASTER WEEKEND

Friday night my Aunt, Uncle and cousins from Las Vegas came down to visit. I think it has been 9 years since I have seen them. It was SO GREAT to see them again! I LOVED IT! Growing up, we would only see them every year at Thanksgiving. I remember looking forward to it every year! We would drive into Vegas late evening. Grandma Norma would be looking through the window as we pulled in. We were so excited to finally be there and get out of the car that was playing either Billy Joel or Barry Manilow. We would run in the house and instantly walk on the vinyl rug that had sharp spokes on it. Grandma and Grandpa would usually be doing a puzzle to pass the time waiting for us that night. Our family of nine would stay at Grandmas in two bedrooms and the living room. We would bring down video games and play the next day with the cousins, Uncle Jim and Rusty. Grandma, Mom and Vicki would be busy cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Friday we would usually go with all the girls in the family to eat at Macayos. I have great memories with these girls so it was so fun to see them again!
That night everyone went to see Mom, Boyd and Niki at the Easter pagent. We missed it and my family went to the Kennedy's for their Annual easter egg hunt. We met over at Syd's afterwards for homemade butterfinger and pistachio ice cream and brownies.

Saturday morning we met at Nin's for breakfast and to wish BOYD-EO a Happy Birthday. Then we headed to the Barn to swim. The kids loved it.

After swimming at the Barn, we met at Wendes and hung out ALL day. Thanks NIN! We watched games, ate, dyed eggs, ate, sat on the couch, looked at magazines and ate more food.

Worthen Easter Egg Hunt 2008
Easter morning we all met over at Courts house for breakfast. It was by FAR the BEST breakfast I have ever had! And, I don't even like breakfast. Court made the yummiest waffles and syrup, & biscuits and gravy. I could eat that every morning.
This year Court, again made the CUTEST easter egg baskets for all the kids with REAL grass, adorable. The kids hunted for eggs and loved doing this with their new cousins.

(G just saw the picture and asked me which one was the Easter Bunny!)

I will miss you guys! I loved getting to know all of your sweet kids and great husbands.
I love you all!
I especially love how you remind me of Grandma and Grandpa!

Nin's Bday

On Wednsday for Nin's bday we went to Crackers for lunch and LGO for dinner. At dinner, we each got a pizza to try! That's right...four pizza's. I LOVED the avocado pizza. Keith was not sold on Gourmet pizza. Nin got the coconut gelato and OH WOW it was sooo good. I'm not a big coconut lover but it was especially delicious with a scoop of pistachio.
It was a fun night!
While thinking about Nin that day, here is a few things that describe her:

Ragnar Relay 2008

Wickenburg to Mesa. 182 miles.
Thats what I decided to do this weekend. Last year, my friend in my ward, Jen Barbier, asked if I would be interested in doing the Ragnar Relay. Her friend in the Power Ranch ward, Jill Woolf, heads it up. Of course I said yes. Then they needed some more runners, since they are doing two teams this year. Which means at night you are not running alone and you have a partner. Amy is always up for crazy stuff like this. So we did it together. We met at Williams Gateway to rent 4 15 passenger vans for our two teams of 12. It took us a little longer then expected. After renting the vans, we were on our way to Wickenburg. As we were pulling up to register, we see our heat of runners starting. Our runner one, Jen and Lisa still had to register. So, we started about 9 minutes after everyone else (tip for next year: leave earlier.) It was so BLAZING hot. Our 2nd runner was Karen Hatch and her SIL Kris. They are amazing. They did great! Runner 3 was Amy and Lois. Lois and my partner Rachel live in Las Sendas and train together. They run hills every run, so it didn't seem to phase them. By the time they ran it was 2pm and SO HOT. But, they did great. Runner 4 was Me and Rachel. Now it is 3pm. I really struggled with the heat and the hills. (The treadmill incline DID NOT cut it for training!) But I didn't stop. Amy said my face was SO RED coming in. Runner 5 was Nicole and Rachel B (Daddy long legs). (Nicole worked with Hils at Hair Do.) They did so good too. Runner 6 was Kim and Kamma. They had a REALLY hard run uphill to Lake Pleasant. It's around 530 when our vans were done. Now the other 2 vans that have runners 6-12 go. And we hung out at Lake Pleasant for a little while. We took showers (YEA, i got a warm one....sorry Amy), listened to a sweet band, bought some shorts (because of the unexpected extreme heat), and celebrated Jens bday. Since it's aroung 630 and we havent eaten real food since we met at 9am we headed out for dinner. We decided to go get Subway real quick and head to our next spot to rest till we start again around 11pm. We had about an hour and a half till our first runner would run. So we all made a spot to lay down in the van. After an hour of silence, we realized only Nicole fell asleep. We couldn't sleep before we did our late night run. So Jen and Lisa strapped on the construction worker vest and ran. The night runs were by far our best and funnest runs. After our night runs Amy and I were on a run high and had a lot of run yelling and encouraging the other runners still going. We then went to our next exchange and slept for less then 2 hours. Then started the whole thing over again for our last run. Mine was by Saguaro Lake, uphill for 4.3 miles. But nothing could compare to Amy's last run. I didn't get to see it...but everyone said it was horrible. She's Amazing! After our run we returned the van and headed home.

A SNOWY DAY!

A couple of weeks ago, we decided to finally head up north for the day and use some of the snow clothes I had collected throughout the year for everybody, oh and play in the snow! We went with Derek and Summer's family. It was so fun, and the kids loved it. It was a little scary watching some of the kids ride down. G and Clay boy ran into some tree branches and one of them almost ran straight into a log. It was very scary, but that didn't stop them. They loved it! Kohl loved trying to find new hills. Em had fun going up and down the hills. Alice wanted to play in the mud.
It was a fun, snowy, family day!

G-Love's Birthday Party

Valentines Day this year was a busy day for G. It started out at a 9am birthday party. She had Molly, Maggie, Quincy, Kash and BoBo. The boys BARELY got to come this year. She wanted a Girl party but of course she can't have a party without her favorite boy cousins, Kash and BoBo. They made picture frames, exchanged Valentines, ate heart shaped sandwitchs, opened gifts and decorated cupcakes.
I LOVED the cupcake cake pan. Thanks Syd for helping me.

After the party we headed to Mrs. Sheri's for their school valentines party and her birthday celebration. We came home for about an hour and then headed off to dance for Grace and Em. We didn't get home till 8:00pm. Grandma and Grandpa Kennedy left goodies at our door for us. Grandma Judy and Grandpa Lee waited at our house for her. They brought the kids cute Valentines.
She had a great day!

Grace's Birthday Valentine's Day 2004
There was only one day that I didn't want Grace to be born. I thought that if she was born on Valentine's Day, it would be two fun things on the same day. Instead of spreading out the fun days! I was due around Fed 22. So, of course, Valentines day came, and that morning I started having contractions. I told Keith. He was taking his sweet time getting ready, not really thinking it was really time. I told him again, I really think it's time. The contractions are getting around 5 minutes apart. We loaded the kids up. On the way, we had to go get gas (still taking his sweet time!). By now, they are coming around every 2-3 min. We finally make it over to Syd's to drop the kids off, and we are on our way to the hospital. They check me, and I was at a 5 and I thought I was going to DIE! Randomly I would think, "Oh no, she is going to be born on Valentines Day!" If I had the choice, I would have waited a day not to have her born on Valentines Day!
At 2pm Grace Kennedy was born. Weighing 7lb 12oz's.
The next day, my sisters and Summer went out and bought all the Valentines stuff that they could find. We all became so excited to buy anything with hearts on it for my little G-Love! We have all loved that she is born on Valentine's Day, and now I wouldn't have it any other way! I LOVE YOU G!

Fun and busy week!

This week has been a fun one. Tuesday I met my school friends for a birthday lunch. We celebrated Jules, Bec and Kandace's bday's. Mishy, Amy, Nikki and Jessica came also. We ate at Joe's farm grill. It was such a beautiful day. The kids loved being outside running around and climbing on trees. I love seeing and being with those friends!
Thursday I met Beth and Sum for lunch. We went to the new mall after. Beth is down for a friends wedding.
Thursday night I met Summer over at Kanoes for a Wende bead party. So Fun! We were there WAY too late. Mostly making fun of my small hands and inability to take a good pic at 2am! It was fun to hang with Mele, she's adorable! Can't wait to go again this Wed to Nin's!
Friday night Sum, Amber, Beth and I had a GNO. We started the night off at Mesa Fro Yo for appetizers. Wished I would have got a #3 instead of #2, but it's all good! Then to L.C. and found some good stuff. Next we headed to Chandler mall to hit up GAP before it closed. Lastly, we went to Chabu Fondue for cheese and chocolate! Yum! Portions size was not as good as Melting Pot so we ate every last morsel, even without utensils! It was so fun!! I'm very lucky in the sister in law dept, on both sides! After we ate, we stayed and talked for a while. After I got home, I got a txt from Amber asking why I didnt tell her about the chocolate on her nose. She had gotten home, took the babysitter home and then went into the bathroom and there was chocolate on the side of her nose. I had no idea it was even there. Now, everytime I look at this pic, I die laughing.
Saturday night we had Blue and Gold Banquet at the Church. Afterwards, we met Russ, Amber and Beth at Outback for a late dinner. Seriously, Outback is not as good as it use to be. And since Melissa's post, I can't even eat the cheese fries! But, of course, I still managed to eat quite a bit!
All in all, a fun week!

London's Run 2008

I ran in London's Run Half Marathon this weekend. I remember going to the very first one. It was a month or so after London passed away and Em wanted to go. London was in Em's Kindergarten class when she was diagonsed with cancer. They were also in the same 1st grade class when London passed away. The run was at QCHS and was not very big. Let me say it is HUGE now! KK went out of town (big shocker) so I picked Shannon up at 7am to watch the kids. I headed down to Schnepf farms where I met Amy, Jules, and Sarah. Jules nephew, Troy, was one of the kids benefit from the run this year. We tried to get Team Troy shirts made but ran out of time. Jules brought a big, black Sharpie instead. And she wrote Team Troy on our shirts. Then right before it started London's cousin sang the National Anthem (which was beautiful) and Heather Solomon said a few words. She is so amazing! Despite her trials and loss, she is so upbeat. She was encouraging us to keep going even though we might want to quit (which I did!) The race was pushed back 15 min. So we waited and stretched for a while. And then it seemed so fast, because I turned around and people were going. So off we went. I felt great the first 6 miles. I was right behind Vicky Overstreet (Syds neighbor that is training for a marathon) I thought if I could just stay behind her then I would be ok. Then the next 3 miles started getting a little harder. At mile 9 I bent down to tie my shoes and it was really hard for me to get going again. Slowly, I lost sight of Vicki. The next 3 miles were really bad!! I slowed down a bit. I kept seeing the pics of the cute cancer kids, London and Troy at the mile markers and it really kept me going. At mile 11 1/2 I started to feel better and I was able to pick up my pace a bit. It was great to see my friends at the finish line, Amy, Summer and the Tylers! If you asked me four months ago, I would have told you I could never run that far. But with the help of Amy (checking in on my runs), my ipod (lifesaver) and long runs on Saturday....I did it!

Princess For The Night!

Wow! What a week for the Kennedy Girls! Another party night!!
A couple of months ago I got an offer in the mail for Disney Princess on Ice. We called some of the girls' friends and got a Princess Posse together to go opening night (half off tickets). Molly Bear dressed up as Snow White, Quinny was Tinkerbell and G was Ariel. Some of the older girls wanted to only wear Princess shirts so thats what they did. We met at Red Robin for a Princess dinner before we headed out. We actually parked right by the entrance that was closest to our seats (don't you love when it works out like that!) So we got right in! Our seats were really good! The girls loved it, and it seemed more entertaining this year. It was a fun night!

We were a little stressed about getting there on time, so we went thru Wendy's drive thru and ate on the way!

We were so excited on our LONG drive to UsAirways. We sang Hannah and Miley songs the whole way over. And we sang really loud too!

Aly and Aj opened for them! They were so good...we loved it! These were by far the best seats I have ever had at a concert! We were 32 rows back on the floor!

Ok. So the older bro from Wizards of Waverly Place on the Disney Channel was there.

People were basically mobbing him, and they had to get additional security to help him get out.

...my camera died!! SAD! No pics after or ANYTHING! So we just sang and had SO much fun and didn't worry about taking anymore pics! We were leaving and Security told us to go thru this tunnel so that we didn't have to go back up in the stands. We were walking thru the tunnel and I remember this guy with a blue shirt walk by and a man in a suit and I watched them walk thru the resricted area thru some doors.
Then we got to our car and headed home. We stopped at Jack in the Box on the way home to get a drink. As we were ordering a white Limo pulls up and parks on the curb by JIB. And the man in the blue shirt and suit from the restricted area walk out and stand in line behind the cars to order. I'M DYING! I know someone is in the limo. So, I told Em to wave at the limo when we pull around. So, she started waving. The windows rolled down and two hands started waving. Could it be A & A? So, I told her to get her wig and shake it so they know we were just at the concert. She did, and they rolled the window down again, waved and said "how cute". We still couldn't see who it was. So, we pulled around next to it. They rolled the window down a little but we still couldn't see who it was. So, we left. What was I going to do if it was A & A? My camera was dead! So, in mine and Em's mind...it was them! Then she fell asleep on the way home, and that was that!
I seriously had SO much fun! Possibly more fun than she did!
Good thing the tix were for MY birthday! :) THANKS ANGIE!!!

FHE at the Temple

Monday night we went to see Reflections of Christ at the Temple with my family. It was really special. We first saw the behind the scenes footage. And even though I had kids up and down on my lap and was a bit distracted, I still felt the spirit. It was so neat to see Boyd, and apparently our showing missed the most of him sharing his thoughts. Guess I will be going back. Then, we went thru the gallery. The pictures were awesome! I loved seeing Mele and especially Boyd and Niki. Then I turned the corner to the last couple pictures and I see the one of Boyd and Jesus, talking. It made me cry and makes me cry now. I want that picture and a picture of myself in that setting. How incredible! I loved seeing everyone too, and I miss Hils...its not the same without her!

We had a great Christmas this year. December 16th we celebrated Christmas with the Worthen side, since Hils was leaving. We ate lobster in honor of Boston, did the Christmas play, and exchanged gifts. Christmas Eve we went to the Annual Kennedy Party and exchanged gifts there. We came home and read the kids Luke 2 before they went to bed. We set out cookies and milk for Santa. Kohl, Em and Clay got Webkins. Grace and Alice got dolls. I promise Grace was there and did get presents, even though there is not a pic of her! Sad!
Santa gave our family the Wii! It has been so fun to play it!

We went to the Temple lights the Sunday before Christmas this year. BAD IDEA! It was soooo crowded we could barely walk. So, we did one loop around the Temple and then left. Strut'n Her Stuff!

Em is doing a performing dance group (think Stars)called Strut N' Stuff. She is such a good lil dancer. Having to do Tueday and Thursday 2 hour practices can be pretty rough, but she is stickin to it and keeping up with her schoolwork too. We are so proud of her! Good Job Em!
